Okay so there are three common types of web hosting available to you. The first type is shared web hosting.  Shared hosting is like living in an apartment building. Shared hosting is a relatively cheap form of hosting.  For most web sites like living an apartment it often comes with all the necessities like Wordpress hosting, Web builders and email. You share facilities with many other people.  What you do in your apartment could affect other tenants or other web sites burning like surges in web traffic.
The second type of hosting available is virtual private servers.  Like a town home versus an apartment a VPS is bigger and gives you more control than a shared hosting account.
With the VPS you have control over nearly everything inside your walls.  You share the property’s certain services like processor usage.  You can now add walls and install whatever furnishings you like for example music streaming software for running a radio show assuming it all fits in your space so it's much more flexible than shared hosting. There are fewer residents on the property and throwing up big parties.
The other type of hosting is dedicated servers.  A dedicated server is like owning your own home.  It’s basically a box with all the computer bits in a remote track somewhere. Having a dedicated server is like owning a big house on a hill. The property is completely yours. You can move walls build a deck or put in computer terms that would mean buying as many resource upgrades as you can afford.
You can even hold parties as big as you want once again assuming you have the row in parking to handle like making sure you have the bandwidth from your ISP or Internet service provider to cope with your massive amounts of visitors but be careful you have to stay within the laws or those dreaded sys admins will show up again. There you go and that's what web hosting is all about

General Discussion / Merry Christmas to you all
« on: December 24, 2014, 08:06:49 AM »
The management and team behind would like to wish all of you a merry XMAS and a happy new year full of promise.

Many people are using WordPress content management systems to power their websites and blogs across the world. So popular is the CMS such that it powers over 17% of the web currently and is set to grow further. Many of their ardent supporters love open source software and the power it places on the hands of its users.
WordPress is also very easy to use. On average a complete newbie would take less than a day to learn most of the things it takes to publish new content on the web. You can actually start publishing immediately you install the software. There are also numerous support forums and websites where you can learn all you need to know.
WordPress is absolutely free to use. You can create fully commercial websites without having to think of a license or terms if you are using custom made WordPress. You are also free to edit and extend the code as much as you need. This means you can add extra functionality to your website or blog.
Support for the software is awesome. You probably know that there are thousands of free plugins that add extra functionality to WordPress. You can also code your own or pay someone to do it for you. You can also choose from thousands of themes that allow you to change the appearance of your site as you like. Besides free themes, you can buy premium ones from websites such as themeforest.
The core application is continually upgraded to ensure that it remains secure. Every new update comes with something new which makes it better software every time it evolves. If you would like to create secure applications then I recommend you use the latest version always. Upgrading can be done easily via your admin page.
WordPress also gives you total control over your website. Compared to other popular web applications like Blogger and LiveJournal, WordPress comes out ahead. You host all your data with your own web host where you manage it the way you want.
When choosing a web host for all your digital works, you should ensure that they support all popular languages you are using to build your pages. For WordPress you will require PHP and MySQL. Most web hosts have the two but you should check out just to be sure.
