Makueni Goes to the Polls to Elect New Senator
« on: July 26, 2013, 09:56:54 AM »
Voters in Makueni are currently voting to elect a new Senator who will replace the late Mutula Kilonzo. Voting started at 6 am as scheduled and more and more people are expected to turn out and vote in a new leader for the county.

Top in the race are Mutula Kilonzo Jr on a Wiper ticket, Harun Mwau of PICK and Philiph Kaloki of Jubilee coalition. Out of the race is Kethi Kilonzo who was barred from running on the grounds that she was not a registered voter. Her brother is running in her place.

Voters are encouraged to turn out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right.
